Terms of use

Last updated 5 October 2026

1. This agreement

mysleepdebt.com is operated by THALOR LABS PTY LTD (ACN 702 519 113), trading as ThalorLabs, an Australian company registered in New South Wales. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.

There is no account to open and nothing to pay, so there is nothing here to cancel.

2. What this site is

A free calculator. You tell it roughly how long you slept on each of the last seven nights and how much sleep you think you need; it subtracts one from the other and shows you the total, plus how many nights of slightly earlier bedtimes would cover it.

That is the whole of it. It is arithmetic on numbers you supply, presented as a general guide to a well-known idea.

3. It is not medical advice

This is the most important section on the page. The site is general information. It is not medical, clinical or psychological advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not a substitute for talking to a doctor or another qualified health professional.

"Sleep debt" is a simple model of a complicated thing. How much sleep a person needs varies, the figure you pick is your own estimate, and the result the calculator gives is only ever as good as the numbers you put in. It cannot see you, and it does not know anything about your health.

Please do not use this site to decide whether a sleep problem needs attention. If you are persistently tired, if your sleep does not improve when you give it more time, if you snore heavily, stop breathing in your sleep or fall asleep during the day, that may be a condition such as sleep apnoea or insomnia — and no calculator will fix it. See a doctor. The same goes for sleepiness while driving or operating machinery, which is dangerous and urgent.

Never ignore professional medical advice, or delay getting it, because of something you read here.

4. No warranty, and no promise it will be up

The site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, current or fit for any particular purpose, and we do not promise it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free. It may change or disappear without notice.

Nothing in these terms excludes any right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a liability can be limited rather than excluded, it is limited to re-supplying the service, which for a free web page means making it work again.

5. How you may use it

Use it as much as you like, for yourself or at work. Please do not scrape it in bulk, automate requests against it at volume, copy the calculator and publish it as your own, or try to interfere with the site or the server behind it.

6. If we ever recommend a product

At the moment this site sells nothing, recommends nothing and carries no advertising. If that changes and we link to a product we may be paid for, that will be said plainly on the page carrying the link, in a place you cannot miss. We will not bury it here.

7. Ownership

The site's text, design and code are ours or licensed to us. The numbers you type are yours, and since they never leave your browser we have no claim over them and no copy of them.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from using this site, or from relying on anything it tells you — including any decision you make about your sleep, your health, your work or your driving. Section 3 is the reason this section exists.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction.

10. Changes, and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and using the site after that means accepting the version then published.

Contact: support@thalorlabs.com. How the site handles data is in the privacy and tracking page.
